The 5g has also worked very well and the only failures I've encountered were due to sloppy programming in the actual programs used for capture. I can see 3-4 times the access points vs my ThinkPads internal card. I was skeptical about the hard installed antenna as I usually opt to use a higher gain aftermarket option but the range is great. This can be avoided by using Airmon-ng to manually engage monitor mode. Occasionally auto scripts such as Wifite will fail to return the card from monitor mode and Kali will get confused as to what mode the card is in necessatating a reboot. Once you have built the drivers and enabled them the card performs very well. You need an active internet connection to pull the RTL drivers from the base Debian repository and compile via terminal. First off, I should note that this is NOT plug and play with Kali Linux.
